Food Distribution in Miacher, Nagar – 520 People Provided Fresh Meals

Access to nutritious food remains difficult for many low-income families living in remote communities across Pakistan. Limited employment opportunities, financial hardship and rising household expenses can make it challenging for vulnerable families to meet their everyday food needs.

To provide immediate food assistance, a Food Distribution Drive in Miacher, Nagar, Gilgit-Baltistan was carried out on 15 August 2025. The initiative provided freshly prepared meals to 104 vulnerable families, reaching approximately 520 people in the local community.

The project was carried out as a Self-Funded Sadqa initiative, with the support of volunteers who helped identify deserving households, prepare meals and distribute food respectfully.

Supporting Vulnerable Families in Nagar

Food insecurity can place significant pressure on families already experiencing difficult financial circumstances. Daily wage workers and households with unstable incomes can be particularly affected when earnings are insufficient to cover essential food and living expenses.

The food distribution project in Nagar District focused on supporting these vulnerable households through direct food assistance.

The key objectives were to:

  • Provide free food to vulnerable families.
  • Support people experiencing hunger and food insecurity.
  • Assist deserving daily wage workers and low-income households.
  • Reach families receiving little or no other assistance.
  • Provide support without discrimination based on religion, caste, gender or background.
  • Maintain the dignity and privacy of beneficiaries.

Fresh Food Prepared for 520 People

Fresh Chicken Pilao was prepared for the distribution before being packed into individual food boxes.

A total of 104 cooked food boxes were distributed, providing meals to approximately 520 beneficiaries.

The meals were organised and distributed during the scheduled period from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, helping ensure an orderly and efficient distribution process.

How the Food Distribution Was Carried Out

The project followed a structured process to help ensure fairness and transparency.

Community Survey

Before distributing food, the project team surveyed the area to identify households experiencing genuine financial hardship and food insecurity.

Identifying Families in Need

Priority was given to vulnerable households, particularly those receiving little or no assistance from government agencies or NGOs.

Meal Preparation

Fresh food was prepared and organised for distribution to the selected beneficiaries.

Food Packing

The cooked meals were packed into individual boxes, allowing them to be distributed efficiently among the identified families.

Distribution to Beneficiaries

The food boxes were provided to the selected households while taking measures to protect the identity, privacy and dignity of beneficiaries.

Self-Funded Sadqa Initiative

The Miacher Food Distribution Project was carried out as a Self-Funded Sadqa initiative.

Rather than relying on a public fundraising campaign, the project provided direct assistance to families identified as needing immediate food support.

This approach reflects the principle of helping people practically and respectfully while ensuring resources reach the intended beneficiaries.

Volunteers Supporting the Project

The successful completion of the project was supported by volunteers who contributed to community assessment, preparation, coordination and distribution.

The volunteer team included Akbar Ahmad, Qurat-ul-Ain, Hamid Raza, Amir Malik, Ehsan Bashir, Aslam, Fiaz, Imtiaz, Mohsin Farooq and Murid Kazim.

Their involvement helped ensure that the distribution was completed efficiently and that the selected families received their meals with care and respect.

Protecting the Dignity of Beneficiaries

An important part of the project was maintaining the anonymity and privacy of the people receiving assistance.

Families facing financial hardship should be able to receive support without unnecessary exposure or embarrassment. The project therefore focused not only on distributing food but also on ensuring that beneficiaries were treated respectfully throughout the process.

Providing assistance with dignity remains a central principle of community welfare initiatives associated with Hadi Shehzad.

Continuing to Support Families Facing Hunger

The Food Distribution Drive in Miacher, Nagar provided immediate food assistance to 104 families and approximately 520 people.

While a single distribution cannot solve the wider challenge of food insecurity, targeted initiatives can provide meaningful relief to families during difficult periods.

The objective remains to identify genuine need, reach people directly and provide assistance with compassion, transparency and dignity.
